MATTHEW 5:37 tells us to just say yes or no and leave it at that.
What Does it Mean? When we say things or emphasize a point to advance our own agenda, we are manipulating others and that is wrong. Always speak truth and leave it at that. It is easy to stretch the truth or mislead people to emphasize a point or get them to make a decision we want them to make. When we mislead them, even if our purpose is to build them up, it is manipulating and it is wrong. Have you ever been asked how something looked and you said it looked great when it really didn't? Have you ever agreed or disagreed with someone to get them to do what you wanted? What did you want them to do and why did you want them to do it?
