WANNA-BE - Matthew 9:27-34
What Does it Say? v 27-30 Two blind men followed Jesus into the house where he was staying begging Jesus to heal them. Jesus asked if they really believed He could heal them. They said they believed and Jesus touched their eyes and healed them.
What Does it Mean? The two blind men believed Jesus could heal them. They were persistent in their request for Jesus to have mercy on them and wouldn't leave until He gave them what they were asking for. They even followed Him into the house where he was staying. Jesus asked them if they believed he could heal them. They said they believed, but it still took a touch from Jesus to heal them. Their faith was not what healed them, Jesus did. So why was it important that they believe? As we pray, we come to know God in a personal way. The main purpose of prayer is to build a relationship with God - it takes time, energy, and effort to build any relationship. If we don't have the need, we wouldn't have the motivation. If prayer is to become a regular part of our everyday life, we need to believe God loves us and wants the very best for us. Lamentations 3:22-23 says God’s compassion never fails; it is new in every situation. How can we stop being a prayer wanna-be and become a prayer warrior? Don't let your day decide your prayer time; let your prayer time decide your day. When is the best time for you to do your devos and pray? What can you do to set aside that time and stick with it?
