What Does It Say?  v8  The way you live should prove that you have repented.

What Does it Mean?  I don't know about you, but some sin is hard to turn away from.  Suppose someone hurts you; you know you are supposed to forgive and you want to, but you keep thinking how you can hurt them in return. To repent means to turn away from or stop committing the sin.  To repent of unforgiveness means to stop allowing our minds to think of how we can get even. God sees what is in our heart.  God knows if we have turned our back on our sin or if we continue to allow satan to tempt us.  You are in control of what you think.  A temptation does not become a sin until you consider it.  Proverbs 4:23 says to guard your heart because everything you do, comes out of it.  What are you thinking about?  When a thought pops into your mind, you don't have to think about it.  You can just say to yourself, "no I am not going there."  Ask God to help you reject temptation and not give it a second thought.
