Matthew 6:2-4 tells us that when you help someone out, we should not make a big performance of it making sure everyone notices. When God helps you out, he does it behind the scenes.
What Does it Mean? God wants us to help others whenever we can, but do so in private. If no one else knows, it is more likely that our motives will not be to make ourselves look good. When we give for the wrong reasons and do not receive the recognition or appreciation we crave, we can easily feel cheated and angry and stop serving. Be careful to give without expecting anything in return. When we serve, it is nice to at least get a thank you. How would you feel, it you didn't get one? Ask God to help you maintain a good attitude and keep serving even if no one notices or appreciates what you have done. Even if no one else sees, God does and he will reward you.
