COMFORT ZONE - Matthew 10:1-15
What Does it Say?  v9-11 Jesus sends His 12 disciples to the Jews to heal the sick and cast out demons.  He tells them not to take money or extra clothes and to accept hospitality for food and accommodations whenever it is offered; workmen deserve to be paid.
What Does it Mean?  I don't know about you, but I like to take care of myself.  Depending on others to take care of my physical needs would have been scary for me.  Jesus was teaching His disciples how to trust Him.  He was stretching them to move out of their comfort zone.  Being stretched never feels good and we fail sometimes, but it is bootcamp for learning  to trust God.  When God was teaching me to tithe, I was a single parent with two teenage boys and money was definitely an issue.  The first time I gave at the beginning of the month instead of after everything else was paid, was scary.  I wasn't sure if we could make it through with the money I had left.  God was faithful, we didn't starve, the bills got paid and the utilities didn't get cut off. I prayed and learned to trust God with my finances in a new way. There were times when I overspent in one area and had to go without in others, but I learned to budget and tell my money where to go instead of wondering where it went.  I had to step out in faith and trust God with the results.  How is God stretching you?  What is your response to the process?  Talk to God about it.

If you are encouraged through my story, I would be blessed if you let me know.
