CHECK THE MAP - Matthew 7:13-14

What Does it Say?  The narrow gate that leads to life is traveled by few, the wide gate that leads to destruction is traveled by many.

What Does it Mean?  When we go on a trip, we usually check the map to make decisions about how to get where we want to go.  We are on a journey and we do make choices along the way.  Which road is best?  The wide road that leads to destruction is self-centered and paved with personal comfort, temporary pleasures, and moral compromise.  Sadly most people never check the map and just choose the easy road without ever looking to see where it is going. John 10:10 tells us that the easy road leads to destruction, but Jesus came to give us an abundant life.  John 14:6 tells us that Jesus is the only way to get on to the narrow road.  The narrow road will take us through difficult decisions and hardship, but we are never alone.  Jesus walks beside us, he carries us in the tough times, and provides for all our needs. He encourages us, loves us, and withholds no good thing.  He gives us peace, purpose, fulfillment, and the resources to build His kingdom.  Only a few find the narrow road that leads to life, but Jesus died to make it available to all.  Many are not willing to pay the price to follow Jesus.  Which road are you on?  What have you found there?  If you are on the narrow road, what has been the most difficult and what are you most grateful for?  Tell Jesus today.
