What Does it Say?  V12, 17  When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, He returned to Nazareth and started preaching.

What Does it Mean?  Times change; nothing stays the same forever.  John had a thriving ministry and then he gets put in jail and Jesus begins his ministry.  Sometimes change is hard.  Imagine how John would have felt.  He had baptized Jesus and now he is sitting in jail and Jesus is gaining popularity.  We need to be OK with the changes God chooses to make.  Each of us were created for a time, John's job was to make way for the Lord.  It is hard when changes happen that we don't like, especially if the old methods worked.  Change is not always bad, it's just different.  The important thing is that we continue to spend time with God, telling him how we feel, asking him what he wants to happen, accepting it, and choosing not to become angry or bitter.  What change has happened in your life that you are not happy about?  Ask God to help you accept it and have a good attitude about it.  Ask Him how he wants you to respond and how can you join Him in what he is doing now.
