What Does it Say? When Joseph heard that Herod had died and his son had taken over, he was afraid to go to Judea. God warned him in a dream not to go there, so they went to Nazareth instead.
What Does it Mean? v22, 23 Joseph was afraid to go into Judea because Herod's son was on the throne. God sometimes uses our emotions to guide us. He also leads us as we go - he told Joseph to go back to Israel. As Joseph got closer, God gave direction to not go into judea. We don't have to know all the answers before we start. If you are afraid of something, it could be for good reason, so don't ignore your fear. Ask God to show you if caution is needed or if you are being plagued by a spirit of fear. 'Don't be afraid to walk on thick ice; don't walk on thin ice unafraid.' What are you afraid of today? Ask God to guide you and give you His wisdom.
