BLIND LEADING THE BLIND - Matthew 15:10-20
What Does it Say?  Jesus’ disciples told Jesus that the Pharisees were offended when He said they were not defiled by what they eat or by eating with unwashed hands, but rather by what comes out of their hearts.  Jesus reminded them that every plant that God does not plant would be pulled out.  Jesus called them blind leading the blind.
What Does it Mean?  What comes out of our mouth is what condemns us, not what goes into it.  What goes into our minds and our hearts is far more dangerous.  We become like our teacher.  If we spend time with God, we will become more Christlike.  If we feed our mind with evil in whatever form, we will have problems with our thought life.  Satan sends negative thoughts into our mind in an effort to condemn us.  He sees what is going on in our lives and he knows our weaknesses.  If we have a low self-esteem, he can feed us lies about our self worth.  If anger is an issue, he can influence people to say things that will make us mad.  Just because Satan feeds us thoughts, does not mean we have to think them or be afraid of him.  1 John 4:4 says that God is greater than anything in the world.  God offers us protection from Satan's schemes.  We take advantage of God's protection when we are careful what we allow ourselves to think about.  What goes into our hearts will come out of our mouths and condemn us. If you complain a lot, you may be feeling sorry for yourself.  It you focus on the positive, you have a thankful heart.  What has been coming out of your mouth lately?
