BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU THINK  -  Matthew 5:27-32

Matthew 5:28-30 says that when we lust after something in our heart, we have already committed the sin.  It is better to loose part of our body than to go to hell.

What Does it Mean?  Lust is to want what you don't have.  All sin falls into one of these three categories; lust of the flesh (pleasure), lust of the eyes (possession), and the pride of life (position).  When we want something and do what is wrong to get it (think about it), we have already committed the sin in our heart.  If not lusting is serious enough to cut off part of your body to avoid, it is a big deal.  When you find your mind dwelling on something you want that is not yours to have, you need to choose not to give it a second thought, immediately.  If you dwell on it, you are asking for trouble.  Sin starts in our heart with a desire, so be careful what you allow your mind to think.  Do you day dream about what your life would be like if you had what you desire?  Be careful what you think, Proverbs 4:23 says that it determines the direction of your life.
